DIANA VREELAND THE EYE HAS TO TRAVEL: FILM OPENING

Tomorrow, October 12th at the Camelview 5 Theater

“During Diana Vreeland’s fifty year reign as the “Empress of Fashion,” she launched Twiggy, advised Jackie Onassis, and established countless trends that have withstood the test of time. She was the fashion editor of Harper’s Bazaar where she worked for twenty-five years before becoming editor-in-chief of Vogue, followed by a remarkable stint at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, where she helped popularize its historical collections. Diana Vreeland The Eye Has to Travel is an intimate portrait and a vibrant celebration of one of the most influential women of the twentieth century, an enduring icon who has had a strong influence on the course of fashion, beauty, publishing and culture.”

I am so excited to see this film on such an a revolutionary personality and mind in fashion history! I urge you all to do the same! Don’t miss this insight into her visionary mind. This woman was someone truly special.

Monday Work Wear, Fall 2012 Color Inspiration

Spring is here, and so are the line for Fall 2012. So the question is, Do we ignore all of the new trends we see forming as well?

For this week, I put together a little outfit that bridges the freshness of spring with the warmth of this coming fall.

Obviously colored pants are here and going to stay for a while, particularly burgundy! but who could ever ignore the current color obsession- orange! The fall-like burgundy is quickly transformed into a spring appropriate look by pairing it with a pop of orange in a sandal wedge. Thank God for cream sweaters, they are perfect for all year round.

To balance the bottom heavy outfit, a chunky necklace is required. In this case I’ve layered a few to get the right amount of bulk. Have fun and play around with combinations!

Throw your hair up to show off the  jewelry, and not let the ensemble get too busy or forced looking.

Of course, if you have an orange bag for these coming seasons (not pictured), all the better!

Have a wonderful monday and rest of the week! Happy spring/fall dressing!
